People wrap themselves in their beliefs. And they do it in such a way that you can’t set them free. Not even the truth will set them free. – Michael Specter

This blog is a collection of essays on topics of interest to me and, hopefully, others who have an honest desire to understand and make sense of the confusion that dominates our social and political discourse. You may or may not find some of the information useful, and you might even disagree with some of the arguments, propositions, or conclusions within them. But that’s okay. If I never wanted anyone to disagree with anything I say or write, I would never speak or write again. We all know that will never happen.

How many unauthorized aliens are in the U.S.?

The widely accepted claim by journalists, politicians, and some researchers that there are 11-13 million illegal aliens residing in the U.S. is blatantly false (aka – misinformation). The real number at the end of January 2024 was closer to 27-28 million.

Deconstructing Contemporary Wokeism

Since the19th-century, being woke, in the sociopolitical sense, has always meant a person who is aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues. Where contemporary wokeism differs from 19th-century wokeism is that while the 19th-century wokeism was about bringing people together to halt social injustice, the modern-day version is more concerned with dividing the people into oppressor v. oppressed classes.

The Dichotomy of Fascism

Although fascism is customarily defined as “a far-right political ideology and movement characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, forcible suppression of opposition, subordination of individual interests for the perceived good of the nation, and strong regimentation of society and the economy,” it has more in common with the left than the right.

Seems like something everyone should read. It’s like the info the left erase out of history so they can “feel” better.

Erasing or modifying history does nothing change anything. Instead, it prevents society from learning the truth about the growth of a nation.
